Kidrobot Mega Man Mystery Minis

Eiren has returned from his recent trip with goodies...for me!  I have the best housemates 60% of the time.  Eiren snatched the last two of these on his way home.  Lucky me.

MEGAMAN!  One of my all-time favourite video games.  I got Iceman and Dr.Light, score!  The paint job on these two is just fantastic.  Highly detailed, highly adorable.  A Mega would have been awesome but there's always next time.

Skyrim Pops! Pre-Order

The wait is over!  My Skyrim Pops! have finally arrived.  Would have been badass central to have a Khajiit but wishful thinking...for now.

Alduin is oversized and looks great.  It is very detailed and has a bit of weight of it.  The Daedric Warrior is perfectly painted and detailed.  My Dovahkin however...

has two dots of brown-ish paint on his helm.  It's not too bad.  It makes me wonder how that slipped past QC.

There are bleed lines where the helm meets his face.  

Most of the time I do not mind a small imperfection here or there.  However, the Pops! I have purchased or received have had noticeable flaws.  This rings too true with pre-orders to which I don't understand.  If it's a pre-order that would mean there have been months to quality check, test, tweak and re-batch.  Meaning there should be less imperfections with Pops!  It is what it is.    

Marvel Collector Corps Secret Wars

The much anticipated SECRET WARS Marvel Collector Corps box has arrived!

Collector Corps Pin and Patch:  As we all know, I'm not a fan of pins or patches but they seem to be growing on me when they are as cool as this.

Secret Wars Comic:  Truthfully, I've been out of the loop with Secret Wars and tried to catch up as much as I could waiting for this box.  It's pretty good but I don't foresee it being as popular as Ant-Man or Ironman.  Just my thoughts, cool nonetheless.

Secret Wars Tee:  Very comic, kawaii style.  My housemate has claimed this one and admittedly, I wasn't too keen about it.

Secret Wars Funko Pops! Jane Foster's Thor and Miles Morales' Spiderman:  When I first opened the box, I screeched 'dat Spidey!'  Two Pops! in one box is a nice and unexpected addition.  I like them both.  My issue lies with Funko's quality control. 

 For being an exclusive, my Thor has a sloppy paint job on her visor of the helmet that has bled into her face, her breastplate is sloppily painted and chipped, and her helmet has bled into her face by her hair. 

My Spidey has a hasty paint job on his chest (the paint had air bubbles causing the paint to blister) and there is a splat of red paint on the back of his leg.  

I honestly do not mean to complain about the Pops! but this has been an ongoing issue with Funko.  I have seen many complaints all over the web as well as Funko claims that they are 'working on the issue'.  I get that not every single Pop! made will be perfect but sometimes there is just a lack of care that feels like a kick to the groin.

Boxy Chan: The Simpsons Theme

Boxychan has arrived in the post today!  Such a kawaii little face on a box of happiness.  I went with The Simpsons Theme one-time box since we have been watching it quite a bit around here lately.

Boxy card is super adorbs.  The reverse has social media contact information for Boxy and subscription options.  There are no loot preview cards with Boxychan because each box is different.  No two boxes will have the same loot.  That is pretty cool.

Funko Plush Krusty the Clown:  I like this plush a lot even though plush and I have a rocky romance.  It is super soft and super adorable.  Will be displaying this with all of my other Simpsons collectibles.

The Flying Hellfish Patch:  This is also pretty neat even though patches and I have a weird relationship.  Oddly enough, The Flying Hellfish episode was just on.

The Simpsons Water Bottle:  I have seen these types of bottles around lately.  I am not a fan of them unfortunately however my nephew enjoys these so it will find a good home.  Seems pretty sturdy but I foresee the cap being problematic.  It has ridges on the sides of the rims and if the cap doesn't 'snap' into place, it will leak.

Ralph oversized Sticker:  I'm sure this came from those machines in markets for a few coins.  Ralph Wiggum is a favourite of mine and I will happily display this somewhere.

The Simpsons Figurine: Chief Wiggum.  Another favourite of mine.  I purchased Marge, Homer, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie from a Dollar Store a few years ago in Florida.  Since I don't have the Chief, he is a welcome addition to my collection.

World of Springfield Interactive Figures: Mascot Homer.  I have never seen these or the interactive set.  Homer is detailed and it is a solid figure.  The accessories are sturdy as well, they do not bend (with the exception of the handle on jambox).  Homer talks only if he is added to any of the Interactive scene toys (sold separately).  Even without a scene, this Homer figure is top notch.

Final Verdict

This was an awesome box.  The collectibles were nice and will look good on display.  My housemates are arguing over where the Mascot Homer should go as I type.  That is a great sign of a box well done!  

Geek Fuel August 'Back to School'

After the day I've had today, it was like Zeus himself shot a glitter-coated rainbow lightning bolt to my post box when I saw the red box of happiness there.  Ahh ♥

Lewt Preview

As soon as I pulled the GeekFuel paper back and saw Vault Boy on the cover of the GF mini mag, the troubles of my day melted away.

The Brotherhood of Steel back cover is freaking awesome as well.

Aaru's Awakening Downloadable Game Code & Teleportation Charge:  Every month GeekFuel sends a Steam game code.  I haven't heard of this game but I looked it up on Steam and it has positive reviews.  Will have to download and see what it's all about.

Flammable Fun

The Teleportation Charge are those poppers you toss down and they POP!  Or if you are like me, you put them in the window seams or door frames to scare the piss out of your housemates.

Adventure Time Pocket Pop! Keychain (Finn or Jake): I got Finn.  I adore Adventure Time and it will make a cool collectible somewhere in my collection.

TMNT Lollie: Mine arrived opened :( A little candy would have been just what the doctor ordered unfortunately it is going in the rubbish.  Too bad.

Post Apocalyptic Currency Magnet: uh-oh my magnet is scuffed and torn.  I'm not sure if it was meant to be that way or not.  It shows minimal scuffs in the mini mag as well as the card it was (supposed) to be attached to.  I have made Fallout bottlecap jewelry before and have never scuffed them like this.  It was also glued hastily and just looks cheaply made.

Vault Boy: A True Collector

The World According to Wolverine or Spiderman (one per box): I got Wolverine and the book is a nice 'guide' to the world through Wolverine's eyes.  There are removable mementos throughout the book and it is actually a pretty good read.

Wolverine isn't known for wearing his heart on his sleeve.

GeekFuel Exclusive Tee DEADPOOL!  My housemate Eiren started to claim this tee but I trumped all of that.  This design has got to be one of my favourite of Deadpool.  Will definitely wear this one often.

Final Verdict

With the exception of the opened lollie and the flawed magnet, this box was awesome.  The pocket Pop!, the tee, the book, all favourites of mine this month.  

UPDATE:

I ended up sending an e-mail to customer service at Geek Fuel.  Not to complain but rather to make them aware of the minor issues I had with the lollie and the magnet.  I received a swift reply e-mail with the promise of replacing the items.  This was completely unexpected and 100% appreciated.  GeekFuel's customer service is hands down one of the best I've experienced!

The theme this month is Villains 2.  There has been a lot of buzz on social media, so let's see what this crate has in store.

Lost Pollos Hermanos Apron: Holy balls!  I didn't take this out because it has been spoken for.  I didn't want to remove it from the plastic wrap and then struggle to get it back.  It has the Los Pollos Hermanos logo and three pockets for cooking utensils.  An apron for any fan of Breaking Bad.

The Joker Wooden Figure:  Awesome!  Who doesn't want a wooden Joker figure?!  Will definitely find a place on my Batman Display.

Venom or Carnage 3D Mugs (one per crate): Badass central right here.  I got Carnage!!!  Not sure if I will use this for my daily coffee or if it will be a display item.  Either way, it's cool as all get out!

Captain America Hydra Pin (eFX Collectibles): Another badass collectible.  It is a pin (internal sobbing) and it comes with a COA as an actual screen prop.  Will find a place for display.

Final Verdict

A badass crate this month.  This box really nailed the villains theme and I enjoy the selection of items this month.

Catch-Them-All Sweatband:  I have no use for these...ever.  The Pokemon design is awesome.  Not entirely sure if I will find a way to display this or add to the trade-in bin.  Cool item though.

Exclusive Dragon Stress Ball: I have no use for these.  They seem to be popping up quite a bit in sub boxes.  Great Dragonball Z gift.  My nephew has claimed this one, no trade-off bin for you.  

Combat Sticker:  This stickers is actually pretty awesome.  There are vignettes of various heroes including but not limited to Link, Pikachu, Mario, Mega Man, and Donkey Kong.  I like this sticker a lot and will definitely find somewhere for it to go.

Exclusive Combat Panda Patch:  I am not a fan of patches even though I have a nice little collection.  This Kung-Fu Panda Pool mash up patch is a definite keeper.

Link vs Ink Tee:  I like this design but lost out to my housemate who is a mega Link fan.

Final Verdict

So much YES! in this box.  There are a few trade-off bin items but overall the keepers are awesome.  I have been highly impressed with what the 1up Box has been offering.  Looking forward to next month all ready!
